Carl Perazzola (’98) understands a winning athletic program’s impact on school spirit and the student experience. He matriculated to Mount de Sales in high school, quickly becoming a stand-out athlete. In his junior year, Carl was a two-time GISA All-State and Macon Telegraph All-Middle Georgia football player who led the state championship football team in solo tackles. Carl was also named a Macon Telegraph All-Middle Georgia track athlete and competed in the GISA state championship on the record-setting 4X400 meter relay team. Following graduation, Carl was a walk-on at Georgia Tech and earned an ACC football championship ring with the team in 1998. He transferred to the Citadel on a football scholarship and lettered for three years. He currently coaches the girls’ MDS flag football team.
This past year, the Perazzolas made a generous donation to the Tuition Assistance Program Scholarship Fund, closing the tuition gap for fifteen students. Each scholarship recipient is a bright and talented student engaged in campus life through clubs and sports.
“The impact of the Perazzola’s generosity on our community cannot be understated,” said Kenny Epps, athletic director. “They are making a positive difference in the lives of each of these students and in our campus community.”
Student scholarships are essential for promoting educational accessibility by providing talented individuals from diverse backgrounds the chance to pursue their academic goals in Mount de Sales’ supportive and challenging environment. Contributing to a scholarship fund is one of the most rewarding forms of philanthropy, as it allows donors to change lives, help students achieve their dreams, and prepare the next generation of citizens.
