Senior Lydia Good has been recognized as a 2017 Student Teacher Achievement Recognition (STAR) Student. Good has chosen to honor MDS science teacher Mark McMahon as her STAR Teacher. To obtain the STAR nomination students must have the highest score in a single sitting on the three-part SAT taken through the November test date of their senior year, and be in the top ten percent or among the top ten students of their class based on grade point average.

Good will go on to compete at the county level this month. Middle Georgia winners will be selected in March and the state STAR student will be recognized at a banquet in April.
