The Mount de Sales wrestling program continues to excel, with Desmond Brown (2026) delivering a standout performance at the prestigious Prep Slam tournament this season. As a three-year starter for the Cavaliers, Desmond showcased his exceptional talent over Christmas break at Holy Innocents’ Episcopal School in Atlanta, Georgia, competing against some of the nation’s best high school wrestlers.
The Prep Slam is one of the premier national tournaments for high school wrestling, drawing elite talent from across the country. Desmond’s remarkable 5-2 record earned him 4th place overall, a finish that ranks as the second-highest in the history of Mount de Sales wrestling, following senior Carter Sparks’ (2025) 3rd-place finish last year. Desmond’s journey to 4th place was a testament to his determination to be successful and his unmatched work ethic. Competing at such a high level in a tournament of this caliber highlights his standing among the state’s top wrestlers, solidifying his reputation as a force on the mat.
Desmond’s success at The Prep Slam reflects the discipline and dedication he brings to the sport, and his aspirations to compete at the collegiate level make him a standout example of what it means to be a Cavalier student-athlete. As the team prepares for the upcoming GIAA Traditionals, State Duals, and Prep Nationals, the Cavaliers look to build on their momentum and continue their tradition of excellence in wrestling.
